In kitchens and bathrooms, there are often dangerous items. Such as cleaning products, medicines, and other chemicals. They are two important places in the house that must be taken into account for the arrival of a pet dog. To keep pets safe in the kitchen and bathroom, keep the following in mind:
- Place items like cleaning supplies, medications, and detergents on high shelves.
- Keep all food out of reach of your pet dog. Consuming some products can be dangerous for them. Even if the food poses no threat, the packaging could be a problem.
- Keep garbage cans covered so pets can’t access food scraps.
- Consider installing child safety locks on cabinets, as some pets are not only curious, but also quite intelligent.
- Before turning on the dryer, make sure your pet dog hasn’t been in it for a nap.
- Find and block out any small spaces, such as holes in cabinets or small spaces behind the washer and dryer.
- Keep the toilet seat down to prevent pets from drinking harmful chemicals.

Although most of the dangers are usually in the kitchen and in the bathroom, in the living room there are also elements that could be dangerous. To make sure pets are safe in the salon, keep the following in mind:
- Put the plants out of their reach and, even better, make sure that all the plants you have at home or in the yard are not poisonous to your pet.
- Check the air ducts and make sure they have proper covers.
- Keep cords hanging from televisions, lamps, stereos, and other objects out of the reach of pets.
- Pick up any items that can be broken, such as decorative items, as your new pet dog could throw them on the ground.
- Pick up any children’s games or toys that contain small parts that your pet could choke on.

- Place electrical cords that your pet dog could chew on in an area that they cannot access.
- Keep shoes and clothing out of the reach of pets, as threads and buttons can cause choking or even more serious problems.
- Make sure pets are not sleeping in cabinets or drawers before closing them.
Pet Dog Proof Garage and Backyard
As in the kitchen and bathroom, there can be many dangerous items for pets in the garage and backyard. If your pet dog is going to spend some time in the garage or backyard, we recommend doing the following:
- Clean the garage floor to make sure you can’t find chemicals anywhere. If you ingest chemicals, you can die.
- Put all your garage chemicals on high shelves or in a closet that pets can’t access.
- Keep tools and other sharp objects in places inaccessible to pets.
- Make sure the plants in your garden are safe for pets.
- Check the fence to make sure there are no holes or gaps that your pet could escape through, and cover or block them.
