Where Your Kitten(s) Should Sleep

Finding someplace for your brand-new kitten to rest is a standard requirement when you first bring your cute kitten home. Many people have really solid suggestions about this. They only want their kitten in its own bed. Perhaps a woven basket that’s bought for it. For sure, they wouldn’t want the kitten sleeping in the bedroom, or on any armchairs/sofas. Others are chill about the situation and would let them sleep wherever.

The only decision that matters, is the one you decide that is right for your family. Of course, with preparations for introducing your kitten to its new habitat.

Give it thought.

You need to give thought into this. If you decide whether they’ll sleep in the bedroom, any other place in the home or in their bed. On their first day away from their mother, they’ll surely be scared alone. If you have a blanket that their mother was sleeping on and still has her scent on it, place it in their sleeping basket. This will give the young kitten a feeling of security.

Unless you want your kitten to sleep onto your bed next to you, you shouldn’t. It’s their first few nights when they’ll still be homesick and when they’ll miss their mom. You should contemplate camping out onto the floor next to their bed for those nights. Until they get used to their new surroundings.

If you decide on the fact that they should sleep in whichever place he or she prefers, you should prepare. So they won’t get suffocated or squished during the evening. Arrange pillows or soft rolled towels around them to pose as a cushion between them.

Or, if you have a basket for them, look for a place where you can put it. It should be fine if it’s somewhere without any danger of being kicked off.

Don’t be surprised if you find them in a different sleeping spot in the middle of the night. Cats, generally, often tend to be opinionated and also do their own thing no matter if it suits your preferences. Initially, you should accept this. If you want, you can go look for a sleeping area that you’ll both be glad about.
