To call their mother

When a pet cat is young they may meow or complain to call their mother. Mostly because they lack food or shelter. Or, they just did that because they feel alone in general.

Your Cat feels unsafe

Upon arriving in a new home, they have to acclimate to the new home, their new space, and their new family. It should not be a very long time, a week or so. Your cat may cry because they feel strange in their new home, unprotected, or because they are afraid. When they feel all the comfort and warmth of the home, their behavior will change.

Your Pet Cat is Hungry

One of the big reasons your pet cat may seem like they’re crying is because of food. If they are hungry or want more food, they will probably start meowing near their empty bowl.

Unhealthy/In Pain

Cats also cry from a possible lack of nutrients. It is important that your pet cat has a healthy and balanced diet to avoid diseases related to the lack of nutrients.

Pet cats that are already a little older may complain of pain or illness. Non-visible diseases such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, or kidney failure can be very common in your older cat. You should go to your vet as soon as possible for a thorough checkup.

Your Pet Cat is in Heat

The heat can be another reason so your feline can mourn. In these seasons, which usually coincide with times of great light, your cat will be more hyperactive and irritable. They will want to escape from home by any means to meet other cats. If your pet cat is not sterilized, go ahead and consult your trusted veterinarian. They will advise you of the best you can do according to your situation.
