Digestive system disorders in a Pet Hamster
Due to their small size and other causes, hamsters can suffer a lot from digestive system disorders, as there are many occasions when we accidentally overfeed them. Remember that a pet hamster is a small animal. Its amount of food must be in proportion to its body. You should also see if they drink enough water, as they sometimes forget. Abscesses
These abscesses/fistulas are usually a sign of a poorly healed disease or infection. Do not assume that it is not serious because having one can cause great damage to your pet hamster. Heal the wound daily with hydrogen peroxide and a special ointment for it. The vet will recommend the best one for each case.
Pet Hamster Diarrhea
This can be due to many factors such as a change of cage, food, water, or lack of hygiene. When you see that your pet hamster has diarrhea, it is best not to give them anything to eat. Also, little by little, add rice and oatmeal or other cereals that are good for it.
